The Nest Egg Supports Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month Through Their Shop & Share Program Shop & Share Day is September 29, 2010, to Benefit Children's National Medical Center in Honor of a Local Boy & His Family The Nest Egg in Fairfax, Virginia, one of Northern Virginia's local destinations for unique home furnishings and decorative accents, is pleased to announce that their next Shop & Share day will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. 10% of sales that day will be donated to Children's National Medical Center in honor of Declan Carmical. The Carmical family of Ashburn, Virginia are tirelessly working to raise awareness of Pediatic Cancer after losing their son Declan to cancer last month, just short of his first birthday. The Carmical's have chronicaled Declan's Journey thorugh their website, www.DeclansJourney.com Owners Ann and Sean O'Shields developed the Shop & Share program earlier this year as a way for the business to give back to their community through local organizations As the parents of two young boys, they were touched by the story of Declan and his family. Said Ann O'Shields, " We are amazed at the strength the Carmical family has shown and how many people were touched by this wonderful little boy. The family has jumped right into the fight for raising awareness of Pediatric Cancer and working to increase funding to find a cure. They inspired us to help locally by raising awareness within our community and by presenting a local organization, Children's National Medical Center, with a donation that will have a recognizable impact on the work they are doing towards finding a cure and supporting other local families."
