We are fundraising to a very special project to fight pediatric brain tumor
|
The Medulloblastoma Initiative is a spectacular project conceived by Fernando Goldsztein and Dr. Roger Packer, from Children’s National Hospital in Washington, designed to raise funds from private donors for investment in accelerating research to find a cure for medulloblastoma, the form of brain cancer that kills the most children around the world. Fernando is the father of a 15-year-old boy who fights against medulloblastoma. Dr. Packer is a physician who in the last 40 years has been closely involved with medulloblastoma, including identifying the cause of the tumor, its pattern of spread, and discovery of better treatments.
With support from the Medulloblastoma Initiative, a major research effort was established — The Cure Group Four Consortium, an international, multi-institutional research collaborative launched in the spring of 2021. Together, eleven laboratories in the United States, Canada, and Germany are working synergistically with a laser-like focus on children with the most resistant form of Group Four medulloblastoma. Consortium collaborators share a bold vision: to harness and galvanize extensive research and clinical expertise to accelerate the development of a novel therapeutic treatment for children within 18 to 24 months — not in the traditional 3- to 5-year timeline.
The Medulloblastoma Initiative is founded on collaboration, hope, and love. Your trust and generosity will further empower this synergy. Thank you in advance for partnering with us as we push closer to finding the answers needed by children and families facing this devastating disease, and move closer to developing a new standard of care for medulloblastoma and other forms of aggressive brain cancers. |
