I am participating in the Race for Every Child because my granddaughter Bella Grace had life changing care at Children's National in 2018.  As a HME baby, the outlook with traditional treatment was bleak, but Dr. Chang and Dr. Pearl and their incredible team pioneered an innovative approach to stop the severe, recurrent seizures in Bella's newborn brain.  They greatly improved her quality of life and preserved her IQ by successfully stopping Bella's seizures so early in her life.  In September, we celebrated Bella's 5 year "no seizure" milestone.  We will be forever grateful for the amazing, dedicated, and talented team of doctors and nurses who provided such excellent care for our granddaughter.

The attached photo shows the late Dr. Taeun Chang with Bella Grace.  Dr. Pearl and Dr. Anwar are continuing the embolization procedure that she and Dr. Pearl developed for HME infants at Children's National.  They are bringing HOPE to families of HME infants.
