Our journey began when we learned of Chip's diagnosis of Aortic Valve Stenosis when I was 20 weeks pregnant. Through numerous tests, consultations, and visits with Dr. Donofrio, we developed a comprehensive plan of action, thankfully avoiding the need for surgery while Chip was still in the womb. Shortly after his birth, Chip was transferred from Washington Hospital to Children's Hospital, where he received unparalleled care. Within days, Dr. Kanter performed a balloon procedure to alleviate the stenosis in his aortic valve. While more procedures lie ahead for Chip's heart, the success of this surgery is a beacon of hope, and Chip is thriving.
Our visits to Children's Hospital are frequent, each one marked by challenges yet softened by the remarkable support of the staff. Their unwavering dedication eases our burdens and strengthens our resolve.
