Remember, every dollar we raise goes directly to furthering childhood brain tumor research here at Children's National. The money is not designated for a general fund where its impact would diffuse throughout the work of the hospital. Funds from the last couple of years have been used to fund a research nurse practitioner position to help expand our ability to offer innovative clinical trials to children with brain tumors from our region and across the country. We currently have over 28 clinical trials open for children with different types of brain tumors, both newly diagnosed and recurrent. We have also been conducting 2 first in child clinical trials using a new technology called low intensity focused ultrasound. Children's National is one of the few pediatric centers in the world with the ability to deliver this therapy and we have been treating children from around the region and the country.

Providing options where few exist requires a great deal of infrastructure that is not supported by traditional operations. We need your help to keep these options available.
