This year, we are honored to join forces with "Team Anniyah," dedicated to celebrating the life of Anniyah Dixon, a former Goldberg patient, and remarkable individual who touched many lives during her time at Children's National Hospital. Anniyah was the child of our colleague Darcel Jackson, and Anniyah's journey, supported by her amazing care team and community, inspires us to continue supporting Children's National and its vital programs.

For the past five years, Team Anniyah has participated in the Race for Every Child, raising funds to benefit Children’s National.  Throughout Anniyah’s 18 years of life, Anniyah and her family partnered with Children’s National to ensure not just her survival, but ability to thrive while living with the impact of being born with Mosaicism for both Trisomy 8 & 18. With collaboration from Anniyah’s care team in 24 different specialty areas, and all of the supportive services and teams – inclusive of you, this wonderfully made young lady was able to write her own story and live well beyond expectations.  While we recently lost Anniyah to her disease, her spirit remains and as a part of her legacy - this year, we aim to raise $8,000 to contribute to ongoing programs and initiatives across the hospital and community.

The event is inclusive and family-friendly, welcoming participants of all ages, including children, families with strollers, and leashed dogs. If you can join us in person, check-in starts at 7 AM, with the race commencing promptly at 8 AM. We'll walk or run together as a united group and celebrate our completion with socialization and enjoy the festive post-race atmosphere.  We will have a banner at the beginning of our team and each person will have the opportunity to carry a “Team Anniyah flag”. If you are unable to participate in person, we encourage you to join us virtually.  Registration is free through October 13th.
