At the Children's National IDEAL Clinic we see children and adolescents who have or at risk for medical complications related to obesity. Our team of physicians, NPs, and RDs work closely with patients and families to develop individualized treatment plans to support lifestyle modifications to reach personal treatment goals. Our medical providers evaluate and treat patients with a wide variety of diet related chronic diseases (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, prediabetes, and many more), both in our clinic and in conjunction with other Children's National sub-specialists. 

We believe all children should have access to affordable nutritious food and safe play spaces as the foundation to health. We also recognize that obesity is a chronic medical condition and is influenced by a wide variety of factors in addition to diet and exercise including genetic, environmental, and social influences.

We are participating in the Race for Every Child to raise awareness for our patients. We believe that everyone should have access to compassionate care that takes their personal health and resources into account.
