Friends and Family, 

In the nearly eight years since we first became a Children's National family, you have helped us raise over $50,000 to support the patients and their families undergoing care.  While we will miss the wondeful neighborhood walks we did the last two years, we are thrilled to be able to participate in Washington DC again!

The Giambastiani family was initially inspired to participate in the Race for Every Child in 2017 following our youngest daughter's open heart surgery and two week recovery in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Since then, Children’s has become a weekly part of our lives through physical therapy, occupational therapy, follow up appointments and in 2020 as neurosurgery patient when our son had decompression surgery for Chiari Malformation in November 2020. Most recently, our youngest daughter was able to participate in a research game to help children with challenges similar to her.  It is wonderful to be able to give back to a place that has give our family so much. 

We are fortunate to have this incredible care in our backyard and the support of family and friends close by during our hospital stays. As a family with young children, it is rare for us to come across families in the DC area who haven't also recieved care from Children's.  

It is our hope that you'll register to join us on the morning October 19th and make a contribution to our team.
