Race for Every Child 2024

No SlOwen Us Down

Welcome to Sloane and Owen’s Race for Every Child 2024 team page. We are so excited to support this great event and give back to the Children’s National Hospital community.

Sloane and Owen, whose parents are friends and neighbors, were both diagnosed prenatally with congenital heart defects that required surgical repair after birth. While these are very serious diagnoses, both Sloane and Owen were blessed to be cared for by an amazing team of doctors, nurses, surgeons, and medical staff in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. It is because of them and Children’s National that Sloane and Owen are both healthy and thriving toddlers today.

We are forever indebted to the care teams that helped save our babies’ lives and helped us navigate through the hardest challenges we have ever faced. Though we can never repay what we have been given, we are thrilled to be able to contribute in some small way to show our gratitude and help the CICU at Children’s National continue to be able to support their mission.

Please join us on Saturday, October 19, 2024 for the Race for Every Child 5k at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC. If you can, we would be grateful for any donation you can make to our team page. 100% of proceeds will go directly to the CICU at Children’s National Hospital.

Thank you so much for your support!
