Every year the Allergy and Immunology Department at Childrens' National Hospital sees over 1, 500 children and teens with allergies, asthma, eczema, and immunodeficiencies. Our team works diligently to ensure that children, teens, and their families feel cared for and educated on the ways in which they can stay safe and healthy while managing a health condition.  Managing a chronic illness can be overwhelming, time-consuming and expensive. Living with a chronic condition requires frequent appointments and trips to our clinic, and often patients are faced with the burden of purchasing foods that are allergen free, which can be expensive. One way in which the team tries to alleviate this burden for patients is by providing gift cards to those patients who screen positive on our food insecurity screening. We offer giftcards to Giant, Safeway, CVS, Exxon Mobil, Metro, and Uber. These giftcards can help patients get to and from appointments and assist them in purchasing nutritious and safe foods for their children. We need your help!
