At age 4 Isabel was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma. Today she is an energetic 5-year-old who loves to go to school and play soccer. Her family celebrates Isabel’s every milestone and is grateful to Children’s National for making them possible.
Wes is an energetic 4-year-old who likes building complex Magna-Tile structures. While in the hospital for leukemia treatment, he participates in art therapy and loves to play with his care team.
Victoria arrived three months early and was diagnosed with a mild form of Cerebral Palsy as a toddler. She has undergone four orthopaedic procedures and physical therapy at Children’s National. Now 9, Victoria is thriving. She loves swimming and caring for her four dogs.
Ryan was born prematurely with a devastating gastrointestinal condition. Expert care from Children’s National put him on the path to a bright future. Ryan, 7, hopes to become a surgeon or a nurse when he grows up to help kids just like him feel better.
Jocelyn and her family celebrate the “double miracle” that Children’s National gave them: two lifesaving surgeries eight years apart to treat her congenital heart defect. Jocelyn can’t wait to participate in the Race again this year!
Two-year-old Quincy loves watching Toy Story and playing with his favorite characters Forky and Rex. “We are grateful that the team at Children's National diagnosed Quincy's autism early," says mom Darcel. "Now he has access to interventions that will help him grow up stronger."
Lukas, 15, loves cats and playing video games. He suffers from a rare condition and receives care from our Hematology department. “The nurses and Child Life specialists are the most amazing people in the world,” says mom Sara. “We are so grateful.”
Anniyah loves her brothers, riding rollercoasters and dancing to music. As a patient with medical complexities, her family is very grateful for the ongoing care she receives at Children’s National.
Naoma received lifesaving care after she was born with a complication that caused her to breathe in dangerous fluid. She is now a smiley, healthy toddler who loves to dance.
"Children's National is special to me because Dr. Chang and Dr. Bear helped me get better when I was sick,” says Avery. “I am excited to give Dr. Bear a hug at the Race!”

This year, Children’s National Hospital celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Race for Every Child! Participants may register to join us in person or virtually.
You can register for free. Registration gives you access to your personalized fundraising dashboard and the opportunity to recruit team members and raise vital funds to support Children’s National Hospital. We encourage all participants to fundraise. Those who raise $30 or more will receive a Race for Every Child: 10th Anniversary Edition t-shirt. All in-person 5K participants will receive a chipped bib.

Registration is free for this year’s Race for Every Child: 10th Anniversary Edition. All in-person 5K participants will receive a chipped bib. To register, please click here. You can create or join a team or sign up as an individual. All registrants must have a unique email address to sign up and receive access to their participant dashboard. The registration deadline for in-person participants is Sunday, Oct. 9 at 11:59pm. Virtual participants may register until Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 5pm.
T-shirts are part of our 2022 Recognition Program:. Individuals who register and reach $30 in individual fundraising will receive a t-shirt. One t-shirt per participant. The remaining items and recognitions are cumulative.

There is no required fundraising minimum. All participants are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $250. Every dollar you raise will help us provide exceptional pediatric care, support programs for patients and families and develop new therapies and cures. Team Captains are encouraged to set a goal of $250 per team member.
There is no registration fee for either the 5K or the Kids Dash.

Yes! The deadline to switch how you participate is Oct. 1. Please email info@raceforeverychild.org to let us know you would like to make a change.
Yes. Virtual participants can walk or run their 5K any day between Thursday, Oct. 13 Monday, Oct. 17. We will provide further details on accessing your Race Day Experience App and submitting photos and finisher times closer to event day.

You may donate in support of a team or individual participating in the Race for Every Child. Visit our donation page and search for the individual or team name.
Absolutely! Every dollar individual team members raise will contribute to the overall team fundraising totals! We encourage individuals to share their unique participant page links so they can qualify for the Individual Recognition Program milestones while supporting the overall team goal.
Every individual who wants to run or walk in the 5K or Kids Dash must register. Each participant then will have access to a personal fundraising dashboard and can hit fundraising milestones, including the 2022 t-shirt!
We cannot split fundraising dollars among registrants and non-registrants. All participants who wish to participate in the 2022 Individual Recognition Program need to register separately.

Whether at Freedom Plaza or elsewhere, participation as a team is the best way to experience the Race for Every Child, fundraise and make an impact. Choose a creative team name and plan fun ways to engage your team members.
Teams range from two people to as many as you’d like. There is no limit.
Reach out to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers and invite anyone you wish. Keep in mind that individuals who live out of state can sign up as virtual participants and join from wherever they are!
