When he was a year old, Linda's grandson Jack started exhibiting weakness in one leg. His symptoms went on for months and since other doctors could not find anything wrong, at her urging, we took him to Children's National Medical Center. Jack was ultimately diagnosed and treated by the phenomenal team of doctors at CNMC, and Linda was instrumental in getting him there.
When she was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in March 2012, Linda said, "I wish all of the money that will be spent saving my life could go to research for children instead." It was money well spent, as it afforded her another 19 months of life that included seeing the birth of her second grandchild.
Linda hated flowers in life (she always said they reminded her of a funeral home), so we can't imagine she would enjoy them any more in death. In lieu of flowers, please help us honor her memory and love of Jack by making a donation to Children's National Medical Center.
