It’s free to register. Registration gives you access to your personalized fundraising dashboard and the opportunity to recruit team members and raise vital funds to support Children’s National. We encourage all participants to fundraise. Those who raise $30 or more will receive a Race for Every Child: 150th Birthday Edition t-shirt.

Registration is free for this year’s Virtual Race for Every Child: 150th Birthday Edition. To register, please click here. You can create or join a team or sign up as an individual. All registrants must have a unique email address to sign up and receive access to their participant dashboard. Children under 18 will have the option to bypass providing an email address but will still need to register separately. The registration deadline is Sunday, October 10 at 11:59pm.
T-shirts are part of our 2021 Recognition Program:. Individuals who register and reach $30 in individual fundraising will receive a t-shirt. One t-shirt per participant. The remaining items and recognitions are cumulative.
To receive Recognition Program items by event day, participants and teams will have until October 1 to meet achieve fundraising milestones. All participants may fundraise until October 31 and opt in to have Recognition Program items mailed to them after the event.

There is no required fundraising minimum. All participants are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $250. Every dollar you raise will help us deliver exceptional pediatric care, support programs for patients and families and develop new therapies and cures. Team captains are encouraged to set a goal of $250 per team member.

Yes. Virtual participants can walk or run their 5K any day between October 2 October 16. We will provide further details on submitting photos and finisher times closer to event day.
You may register up until Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
You may donate in support of a team or individual participating in the Race for Every Child. Visit our donation page and search for the individual or team name.
Absolutely! Every dollar individual team members raise will contribute to the overall team fundraising totals! We encourage individuals to share their unique participant page links so they can qualify for the Recognition Program milestones while supporting the overall team goal.
We ask that everyone who wants to participate register. Each participant then will have access to a personal fundraising dashboard and can hit fundraising milestones, including the 2021 t-shirt!
We cannot split fundraising dollars among registrants and non-registrants. All participants who wish to participate in the 2021 Individual Recognition Program need to register separately.
All participants will now be considered virtual participants and will be transferred automatically. You do not need to contact us to make the change.

Here are the details for our contactless Drive-through Packet Pick-Up where you can snag the items you qualified for from our Recognition Program. Join the Race Week energy with music and cheers - all without even leaving your car!
Who: Individual participants who reached at minimum $30 on or before Oct. 1* and live within the 25 mile radius from the address below
*Please review the Recognition Program to know which items you qualify for (they are cumulative)
Where: One Inventa Place, West Tower, Silver Spring, MD; enter from Wayne Avenue, into our horseshoe driveway (see picture below)

When: Thursday and Friday, Oct. 14 and 15, 8am-6pm

Teams can have participants join from anywhere around the world. Participation as a team is the best way to experience the Race for Every Child, fundraise and make an impact. Choose a creative team name and plan fun ways to engage your team members.
Teams range from two people to as many as you’d like. There is no limit.
Reach out to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers and invite anyone you wish. Keep in mind participants can join us from wherever they are!
