The 2015 White Hat Gala

White Hat USA

The White Hat organization was established in 2004 in the United Kingdom to protect vulnerable children through charitable means. Following this model, White Hat USA was organized in 2012 with the goal of raising money to help children at risk while providing networking opportunities for members of the Cyber Security community.  The goal of White Hat USA is to provide philanthropic endeavors throughout the year.  We continued building this event into a highlight of Cyber Security industry calendar with the 2nd Annual White Hat Gala in October of 2014.

This exciting event brought together nearly 300 individuals from the Cyber Security, business and philanthropic communities, as well as friends of Children's National, for an evening of celebration and awareness.  We are thrilled to announce that this event raised over $425,000  - bringing our total to over $750,000 raised in our first two years!  We are incredibly thankful to the generosity of so many in making this event a success.  Please visit our "Sponsors" page to learn more about the organizations and individuals who made this evening possible.

The 2015 White Hat Gala will take place Thursday, October 22nd at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in downtown Washington, DC.  We hope to see you there!

Thank You to the 2014 White Hat Gala Committee!

About Children's National

Children’s National Health System is the only exclusive provider of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area and is the only freestanding children’s hospital between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Norfolk and Atlanta.  Serving the nation’s children for 140 years, Children’s National is a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation raises money to support the vital role Children’s National Health System plays in improving the health of children in the nation’s capital, across the country, and around the world.  Funds raised at the White Hat Gala go directly to providing the vital support Children’s National needs to give the best treatment possible to its patients.

  • At Children’s National, we are re-imagining how we care for kids by thinking bigger, thinking differently, finding what works better, making creative connections, and never forgetting who we are caring for.
  • To achieve that goal, we are recruiting the best and brightest faculty, expanding our programs, and updating our facilities to provide the most innovative care to our patients.  With our global reach, we have treated children from 50 states and 40 countries around the world.
  • As a nonprofit hospital, we rely on the generosity of the community to help save and improve the lives of the children we serve.  Philanthropy not only allows our healthcare professionals to provide excellent care, it is also critical to changing the way physician-scientists approach and defeat childhood disease and illness.
  • Your gift helps us provide the best care to all families, including those who can’t afford to pay for treatment. Last year alone, Children’s National provided approximately $50 million in uncompensated health care.
